Green House Gas Inventory
In response to the national greenhouse gas management policies and global net zero emission initiatives, Bioteque Corporation has been autonomously conducting greenhouse gas inventory operations since 2023. The third-party verification for the Bioteque Corporation Yilan Branch(Yilan Plant 2) was completed in Q4 of 2023, and the inventory results serve as the basis for subsequent reduction plans and target setting. Moving forward, efforts will be expanded to cover headquarters, various plant locations, and overseas facilities, with further promotion of product carbon footprint reduction.
The greenhouse gas emission inventory results for the Yilan Plant 2 in 2022 indicate that Categories 1 and 2 have the highest proportion of CO2 emissions (95.67%), followed by HFCs emissions (3.63%). Categories 3-5 exclusively comprise CO2 emissions (100.00%). The total greenhouse gas emissions for the entire plant amount to 13,589.952 metric tons of CO2e. There were no greenhouse gas removals recorded in this inventory.

‧Carbon Reduction Initiatives
Our company will uphold the concept of continuous improvement to effectively utilize resources and fulfill corporate social responsibility. Our carbon reduction strategies are as follows:
Office lighting is controlled by zones, and lighting control is implemented during lunch breaks and overtime hours.
Energy-saving measures are implemented, such as turning off lights and computers when leaving work and regularly shutting down unnecessary power sources.
Indoor air conditioning is set to 26-28 degrees Celsius to reduce energy waste.
Regular inspections of office energy equipment are conducted, and priority is given to purchasing high-efficiency products with environmental protection and energy-saving certifications.
Employees are encouraged to use public transportation more often or adopt carpooling and video conferencing to reduce transportation carbon emissions.

Water Pollution Prevention and Control
Bioteque Corporation Yilan Branch(Yilan Plant 2) and Yike Plant are equipped with rainwater diversion systems and sewage treatment tanks. The wastewater is directed to the approved wastewater discharge outlets by the Yilan County Environmental Protection Bureau and discharged into the sewage system for centralized treatment. Additionally, BOD values are monitored quarterly to ensure compliance with the discharge standards, and regular cleaning or increased cleaning and transportation frequencies are implemented based on the monitoring results. Every six months, qualified testing agencies are commissioned to conduct wastewater quality analysis, and reports are submitted in accordance with regulations, all of which comply with the discharge standards.

Air Pollution Prevention and Control
Our company, as a fixed pollution source in public and private areas, implements the following measures to prevent and control air pollution:
‧ Defective plastic products produced during the manufacturing process are handled and transported by licensed contractors.
‧ Granular pollutants and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) generated during plastic molding are emitted after being filtered by central air conditioning systems. Activated carbon adsorption filters are installed in process equipment and air conditioning units, and these filters are regularly replaced to reduce emissions effectively.
‧ All forklifts in the plant are electrically powered.
‧ In 2020, the heavy oil boilers were all replaced with electric boilers.
‧ Three fixed scrubbers are installed in the Yike Plant, using ozone microbubble treatment technology, which achieves 1.3 times the removal efficiency of total organic carbon compared to traditional methods.
Waste Management
Bioteque Corporation primarily generates three types of industrial waste: general industrial waste, hazardous industrial waste, and recyclables. General industrial waste and recyclables, which are essentially household waste, are uniformly handled by qualified clearing companies commissioned by the industrial zone. Hazardous industrial waste includes mixed waste plastics, mixed waste wood, and waste liquids with a flash point below 60°C, which are also handled with the assistance of qualified clearing companies.
